I loved Madeleine L'Engle when I was in grades 5-8 and read as many as I could get my hands on then. I still remember losing "The Arm of the Starfish" at church because I'd brought it to the Sunday evening service to read during the sermon (it wasn't a real child-friendly church in the sanctuary; had a great kids' program, though). "Swiftly Tilting Planet" was one of my favorites for years because I loved Charles' Wallace's journey through time and space to save the world. "Many Waters" was good, too, because the twins helped Noah build the ark. Of course, you don't have time to continue the series right now.... You do know "Sarah, Plain and Tall" is the first book in another series, right?

I have to admit, I've pondered reading all the Newberry books in the past, and have collected several, so maybe this will be my project next year :) And while I haven't read A Wrinkle...yet you read reading one of my very favorites next! Say "hi" to "Sarah" for me!

Hi Kimberlee- I often wonder how much we as readers lose these days because we don't get to read books that start slow- because they don't get published anymore!

Please don't enter me in the drawing. I have my own ugly-covered copy!
